Aethasia Needs You!

The Aetherlight Resurrection!

We are so proud to announce that Scarlet City Studios has formally completed the transformationally generous donation of  The Aetherlight : Chronicles of the Resistance to Imladris. That includes the original MMO game, the Aetherlight Bible, the IP, the socials, and much more for our ongoing stewardship, development and expansion.

For all intents and purposes this is a multi-million dollar asset and we see it as a chance to build a permanent, revenue-generating foundation for our scrappy non-profit for years to come.

Our immediate roadmap for The Aetherlight comes in four steps:

1. Resurrection: The Aetherlight has been off-line for a few years so priority one is to bring the original MMORPG up to current software versions and relaunch on Steam and mobile.
2. Extension: Make the most of the game engine by licensing to at least one, probably more, for-profit projects to reskin and extend the technical foundation. We already have a deal here, but we can’t be naming names yet. ;)
3. Expression: Re-release The Aetherlight Bible and youth group curricula. We started making plans with key partners as soon as we saw this deal coming together. These will also generate revenue but the bigger goal is in adding fans, new and returning, to our mailing list.
4. Expansion: Launch a Kickstarter to raise awareness and the seed funds for one or more new games, stories, and swag set in the world of Aethasia.

It really is an enormous honor and an ginormous opportunity.
But we need some help to take advantage of this gift and get it back in the market.

Our goal is to raise a one-time warchest of $200,000 to get this excellent example of how a faith-driven team can make a wonderful product that demonstrates the gospel just a little sideways, in a way that’s perfect for the teens and tweens who might not otherwise know that there’s a God who made them, loves them, and paid the ultimate price to rescue them from a diabolical enemy.
